Things I Should’ve Mentioned…

Hey, everyone!  Back from France and Luxembourg, and ready to get down to action.  Lots of stuff piling up in the mailbag, and lots more in the semi-permanent, “temporary” bookmarks folder… So, let’s get down to business.  Here are some of the news stories that I’m about to get all Lewis Black on:

Want to hear Amanda Palmer play Radiohead songs on a ukulele?  Of course you do! Stream her new Amanda Palmer Performs The Popular Hits Of Radiohead On Her Magical Ukulele over at Stereogum: [link]

R.E.M. have given us another goody from their Fables of the Reconstruction deluxe release.  This time it’s “Throw Those Trolls Away.”  It hints at my Life’s Rich Pageant favorite (“I Believe”), and so it’s extra awesome! [link]

And here’s an awesome version of “I Believe” for comparison (the song starts properly after a minute or so): [link]

Hey, J. Tillman’s (Fleet Foxes) putting out a new record! [link]

See Jack White perform “Mother Nature’s Son” at the White House: [link]

You can now trade your e-mail for another new Jenny and Johnny song: [link]

We’re seriously video-heavy this week… Let’s get started:

Pearl Jam have a new charity single “Amongst the Waves,” which benefits Conservation International’s Marine Program. Get it on iTunes, and hear it here:

New video proves that David Byrne will collaborate with anyone, anywhere, at any time.  See him with Crowded House (one more here):

No, seriously.  Here’s an article about his St. Vincent collaboration: [link]

How do you know when an ’80s revival is in full swing?  When Squeeze is performing songs with help from their iPad on Jimmy Fallon… you just know:

From Pitchfork comes news of She & Him’s new video for “Thieves:”

Thanks to Stereogum, I can share the new Belle and Sebastian song “I Didn’t See it Coming” with you:

And this week, I’ll leave you with something my friend Chris over at Geek Force Five found…  Seems Jewel had herself a little karaoke adventure, and it’s awesome:
